Description

There are days when I most likely pass spider webs right by, mumbling with irritation if I walk too close and wind up catching the web on my face, arms, or legs. Yet, thank God, there are other days when I can't help but see the beauty in their creation, the intricacy, the strength; and I marvel at their size and the speed with which they are constructed. This particular spider did not want me to miss his handy work, as he built it at eye level on the sliding patio door, stretched from side to side and from bottom to top. Once I took the first picture, I spent the rest of the day going out of my way not to disturb him. That night he feasted on a multitude of small insects that flocked around the deck lights and flew into his web. By morning his handy work was gone and so was he.

I always seem to walk into webs. they feel so icky and almost impossible to get off your face. I always thought the spider is over laughing it's head off at people trying to be rid of the web.excellent macro

I hate spiders,(shudder) but have to concede this is a beautiful picture, so vivid and evocative of a moment in time, as your description makes clear.
