Description

Ok so there not finished! But I wanted to get some feedback on how they're looking? I'm illustrating at work about a Kurdish family escaping from iraq (text still to be added). It's a real tough one as it's quite a sensitive subject and I'm already getting the negative comments about using comic art to protray this kind of story! Anyway.. I thought I'd throw this topic out the the masses and see what you think? Personally i think it's fine! I'm just having to battle the old steriotype of what comics used to be rather than the powerful, engaging and often emotional medium they can be today. Thanks Tris (Jundo)

Some very nice layout and art here. I really like how you do your shading in these images. As for those who say you can't tell a story like this as a graphic novel, obviously they're they the type not willing to open their minds to possibilities. Point 'em at Will Eisner's graphic novels or Maus(as you have sited before). I wish you the best on this project.

Because the images are mainly the characters and not so much background "stuff", the story is more dramatic. You really focus on the people and what they went thourgh... Great job... Love each panel.

I like the way you combine the midtones (pencil?) with the more intense and dramatically charged black areas. They serve very well to the "climate" and the tension of the story. Great job!

I think the work is beautiful. The story may be touchy but comics are meant to be mindful not mindless. You kind'a grow tired of the usual stuff. Anyway, the paneling is good and the ink job is awesome especially page 3. the stippling effect on the sky and the contrasting line work around the car is great. Keep it up!!!!!!!!
