if i had dreams like that, i'd be more paranoid than i already am. right on cue, a helicopter is flying by again. just my luck living next to a remote hospital and military base. sigh.

You mean there are people who DON'T have dreams like that? I really like the color in this. Though it is apparent from your title, when I looked at it I couldn't help but wonder if the hand was coming up to grab her or asking for help before he drowned. Her sense of calm detachment from the whole thing reminds me of the character Shadow in the book "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman. I'm curious to see more.
