After a while you learn
the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn
that love doesn't mean leaning
and company doesn't always mean security
and you begin to learn
that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises
and you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of woman, not the grief of a child
and you learn
to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground is
too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way of falling down
in mid-flight
after a while you learn
that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
so you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone
to bring you flowers
and you learn that you really can endure
you really are strong
you really do have worth
and you learn
and you learn
with every goodbye, you learn...

A very sad story!! There's so much I could say, but I suppose saying little is best.. I guess I don't understand what drives a person to take the life of another person!!

Oh the Horror! What impact this story has. I hope the next is a descriptive tale of Susans abusive husband being Gased, Electricuted, or simply hung by the Balls!

Terrible situation and actions, yes. But the writing is pretty darn good. Completing the circle with the sixth knife is excellent. Pressaging the heinous act with the slice to her finger and showing us the blood on the floor, with a detached view at first, works well. I'm glad you summarized the final action and didn't take us through what must have been a truly gory scene. -- Dick

For the life of me, dear lady, I do not understand how you call yourself, ''NothingNess''??? Sad, but brilliant, written work!

Horrible and unthinkable! You voiced her end very well, I hope it is not in vain so others can learn from it.
