Description

The pride of Rancho Los Alamitos in Long Beach, California. For those of you who wanted a picture of the whole tree, forget it. This is the best I have to offer in that regard. I would have had to have stood way out in Seal Beach to capture the entire fella, and then there would have been a severe loss of contrast and detail. You have to shoot it in sections to appreciate the magnitude of this grand arboreal specimen. Anyway, I have a few more photos of the beauty, shot on different sides, that I'll be posting as the days go by. Incidentally, I took these shots last December, when the sun was relatively low in the sky.

That IS a biggie, and looks like a staghorn fern hanging to the left. The house seems like a toy next to it. :o)

Well... kinda figured it had to be in California, home of the Giant Redwoods! I would trip on those roots for sure. Very cool view and thanks. :0)
