Very nice image. The tree is interesting and the play of sun and shadows across the root system is a great plus. Awesome click.

Lucky tree.. what a beautiful spot to spend all those hundreds of years... and add to the scenery in the process!!! Cameraman deserves many thanks also ;-)

Beautiful tree! Not too tall but I guess the roots system more than make up for it. Great photo. Thank you for sharing.

Superb play of shade and ligth! is this tree the "dragonnier" of Teneriff?

...also sometimes called Mamei or Lais the "World Tree", a gigantic ash tree, thought to connect all the nine worlds of Norse cosmology. gard, fheimr and Vanaheim rested on the branches of Yggdrasil. The trunk was the world-axis piercing through the center of Miar (often called Midgard), around which Junheimr was situated, and below which lay Nidavellir or Svartfheim. The three roots stretched down to Hel, Niflheim, and Muspelheim, although only the first world hosted a spring for Yggdrasi. A stunning example of how Yggdrasil might actually look and a beautiful old tree in it's own right. Superior photograph!!

Looking at this tree makes you wish that you get just as old as the tree. Imaging having experienced all of this tree's birthdays Nice shot!
