Description
These two, there is one each side of the plant, are Heath Fritillarys'. They are the UK's rarest butterfly. They require a very specific type of habitat in which to survive and the loss of this is the reason they are now critically endangered.
I photographed these early this morning on a nature reserve where their habitat is maintained.
Many thanks for viewing and comments.
Richard.

Lovely capture, we have the same situation here with the Brenton Blue being endangered in an area (Brenton-on-Sea) where the rich have their playgrounds.

I guess i do lead a sheltered life, living so far outside of town. So nature still remains....somewhat...untouched here. And with that "untouchness" we also get tons and tons of horseflies....ewwwwwww....so i guess ya gotta take to good with the bad. Beautiful macro once again my friend.....infact times 2 even. Have a wonderful weekend Richard. #:O)

Great shot Richard ! And to have 2 butties on the same flower give something more impressive to see. I love the tender colors of your DOF, and the quality of this Macro. Really superb. Hugs
