This is my portrait tribute to Neil Gaiman's fantastic graphic-novel series: The Sandman. Morpheus is the eponymous protagonist; he is the embodiment of dreams.
Now I think I'll go lie down for awhile and see if I get a visit.

Very good rendering of the Sandman. The setting reminds me of issue 50 but the Dreamlord himself looks more like the Brief Lives version. (Which is probably my favourite one.) Well done.

Thank you all for your kind words. I knew there'd be at least one Sandman reader in the audience. ;) Yes, this was largely based from the drawings in the Brief Lives volume, but I also took some cues from one of my favorite issues Ramadan, wherein he is depicted in his cloak with the stars and galaxies in it. The lighting is HDRI. I rendered the hair, but ended up having to postwork it anyway. One day, maybe, perhaps if we're all very good, they will come up with a hair engine that isn't a horrid memory hog.
