A contemplative expression - and it would seem there is little doubt that they are "self-aware." This discovering a few years back certainly made me re-think some of my old perceptions about the value of life and my place in the scope of things. I'm still kind of a monkey, tho... :) Seriously, this is a wonderful capture and portrait.
