BIOI have been into art all my life it seems. I have always envied those that could pick up pencils and paints and create wonderful works of art. I couldn't draw with a pencil or paint to save my life. It wasn't until my husband bought our first computer in 1998 that I began to explore the world of digital art.
Being a stay-at-home mom, I forced myself to learn how to use the computer. I started creating "2d" art with the MS Paint Program and then moved on to Paint Shop Pro (Which I still use today). I couldn't get enough. I was truly addicted. I followed every tutorial I could get my hands on to create "art".
It wasn't until I came across Moyra's Web Jewels and saw how amazing her site was and how talented she is. I then thought "Wow, why couldn't I do something like that?" I threw myself into learning how to put together websites that I could make graphics for. It was then through all my searching and studying that I came across a program called Poser. I came across sites that were made with these awesome 3d figure. I just had to have this program...But it was so expensive!
My love for "digital art" kept growing. I found myself creating these "2d" images called cartoon dolls in the summer of 2000. I created them, other graphics, and web sites on and off for about five years. Then Poser came calling again. And after 7 years of begging, pleading, and groveling my husband finally broke down and gave in. In Christmas of 2003 my dive into the "3d" world began and I haven't stopped.
I'm constantly learning new techniques. I am forever pushing and challenging my self to try new things and go beyond my norm. So what the future holds for me, I don't know but I look forward to it. :)

beautiful. I love how it came out so naturally painterly, without a trace of actual photo used :)

I thought this was a digital painting at first glance. Excelent work.

lol! Looking at the thumbnail, and thinking it may have been cropped, i was expecting this to be a variation on Vermeer's "Girl with a Pearl Earrring", what with the scarf and the pose. Was this intentional?

I have to tell you, I thought, ohhh the girl with the pearl earring too... then read your description. Bingo... Excellent work, even if her earring isn't showing, she's got that same look, and the painting is superb... Outstanding work!!!!!

LOL. And I was going to ask how you painted such smooth skin. That doesn't detract from the fact that this is an awesome image. Eyes, nose and mouth are especially good. Thank you for posting.
