Description

I'm quite proud of this, but the truth is most (if not all) of my good photos are about 80% luck. An all terrain vehicle was coming down the road and I was trying to shoo the little frog out of the way, but it took some doing. At first all I did was intrigue him ("who is this strange two-legged being dancing around in front of me?"), which led to this shot. The selective color thing is really growing on me. A side note: The blur in the background was added in Photoshop to make it look more 3-D. I don't think I've changed enough things here to justify putting it in the Mixed Medium gallery, though. Thanks for your comments on "clear water frog". Tofi, I'll upload a cat photo tomorrow (to get you off my back).

Is it really luck, or is it talent? Maybe you should give yourself more credit- after all, you might perceive your ability to see this as luck, others would not have even noticed the opportunity... I think its pure talent! Excellent photography!

I see you have a color version too, but I prefer this one. I think your instinct to desaturate the background and highlight the frog, is brilliant. Often things seem so much brighter in real life, when we look at the photo's later they seem "Less". This one is superb!!

I love this ... and I love selective coloring ... you did perfect!!! May i ask what your technique is? The only way i know how to do that is if I use picasa2... and then I can only select one area to color and not 2 for example, like you did here.
