Description

Duart castle is the oldest inhabited castle on the isle of mull, dating back to the 13th century. It was the ancestral home of the Maclean clan until 1691 when the castle along with the lands on mull was surrendered to the Duke of Argyll. In 1910 the 26th clan chief, Sir Fitzroy Maclean purchased the then ruined castle and rebuilt it to the condition it is in today. Comments as ever welcomed Blessed Be, Zachary.
