Description

Second in a series of pictures I took of THE GREAT CAR FIRE, a dramatic, breathtaking, action-filled event that I witnessed a couple of weeks ago. For further information please go to my initial SMOKIN! (1) photo. And, above all, enjoy!!! There's more to come.

C'mon, did they really need 3 firefighter's to take care of one little car fire? 1 to supervise and 2 to put it out? I think the guy with the big hose could have done the job all by himself. That ff with the extinquisher has a little hose envy, if you know what I mean... ;^P Great capture!

TwoPynts: That was no small fire when it first started. It was belching flames and smoke pretty good there at the beginning. Anyway, as far as how many firefighters it takes to extinguish an automobile blaze, I don't know. They probably have to follow certain procedures in combatting different kinds of conflagrations. There could have been an explosion or a firefighter could get sick or be injured in the handling of the situation, so they need a backup just in case. I know they stood around for quite a while after they put out the blaze to make sure everything was hunky-dory.

LOL @ TwoPynts. In our Dept. we have a minimum of 3 crew assigned to an Engine company and if I turned 'round to find that I was the only one doing all the work I might be a little upset when we got back to the house, LOL. These guys appear to be doing it right although I might have asked the guy (looks like a newby) with the extinguisher to try to open up the hood of the car. Much more could be said to critique their tactics from this picture (mostly good and nothing really bad) but that might be better saved for a rookie class. :D

Cool, I have a post like this. Only mine happened at night. Maybe we need a "Burning Car" genre.
