Description

Hello all! Well, here is one butty shot that has turned out fairly clear. Yes, it is underexposed. An accident at the time, with results that I'm pretty pleased with. I like it a bit darker for some reason. Seems to have more depth maybe. I don't know. lol Thanks for all the warm comments on my last upload, More Pomegranates. I treasure them all. :) Thanks for stopping to have a look, and I wish you all a fantastic day! :)

I think like Lledeline ( my wife) who told me that this underexposition give more deep to the colors and its perfect like that!

A superb macro, and I agree with Philippe (Lafayette) about the underexposition, your shot is really well composed and so lovely.

Difficult to tell without seeing a lighter version, but your colours sure look very saturated - excellent!

Hello my friend.. heheh Finally i saw one of your butties.. And i really do love this shot.. Some time the under-exposed shots are needed.. Specially when the manin object and DOF just like you presented here.. Love the colours and the quality is awesome.. And it is really impressive Macro shot honey.... So i agree with the others and it is amazing and very well composed as well.. Winks.. You just got a big (5)! Sigh! Have a lovely day JOE

I have also noticed that shadow seems to enhance the sense of depth. It does make the image so much more visual and real. A horizontal flip of this image so that the dark side is on the left might have added just a touch of extra drama, hard to tell without trying it. Wonderful work, tho.

Lovely shot of this gorgeous butterfly.. Quite often digital cameras need a bit of underexposure to give it more contrast, certainly has worked well here

Trust me, you should be pleased. This is a fantastic shot, and I'm so glad you made the "mistake" of underexposure because it creates a really beautiful effect, dark and full of bright colors. Love the subtle frame, too -- alot of people go overboard with their frames but you've got it just right!

I think you finally have that DOF you always wanted. This is fantastic.Especially with those red highlights in the back. Not going to post my butty now I see this. Have a nice Friday.

I think I would have cropped this image to the top left two-thirds, but that's me being nit picky. The colors and detail on that (swallowtail?) buttefly are so gorgeous, it should seem to command a greater presence. Awesome DOF.
