Description

Cinema 4d 9.5 + AR 2.5 & Photoshop for DOF For those of you who know anything about football (soccer for all you americans ;-) ) you'll notice its a 2006 Premier League ball (answers on a postcard for who manufactured it!) When i started this morning I wanted to do an addidas world cup ball but it's not the easiest to model........believe me! So I settled for the Premiership ball cos I have one here in my room with me, also they are easier to make (buckyball and lots of interesting bevels, inner extrudes and deformations) The GRASS on this image is 5034 x 5034 and comprises of 7 different stock images of grass and mud, each image used 1 -3 times, compped together in PS and then i did the white lines myself using soft light and colour blending modes plus some grunge brushes on layer masks......took me 3 1/2 hours for just all that!! The grass was 31 Layers and a 534MB PSD document!!

this is absolutely outstanding! excellent realism here! if i had to give any critisism (and i HATE to do that to a render this awesome), the white lines look a bit to sharp at their edges. but that's me just being a picky jerk. killer work my friend!! ---can we see it animated!? LOL...j/k. keep up the stellar work! 5 stars..no question. -chachi

actually, as a coach of youth leagues for many many years, i don't think the lines are too sharp. The grass looks an awful lot like early michigan spring pitches, sent my players out many times in driving snow. Excellent texture on the ball... where's the flag post for the corner? (not all americans are stupid about futbol) Great piece, very very nice work.

Despite the hard work in Photoshop it really came out beautiful. Very nice work indeed! Perhaps to much highlight on the upper area on the ball. All in all, excellent! :)) Strata

Great work, I recognised the ball. :) The WC ball is indeed a crime to model. And personally I think it's ugly as hell. lol Outstanding realism, especially on the grass. My compliments!

This is a very cool pic. Great model and super textures. The only small crit is that the grass looks flat.

Of COURSE the grass looks flat, it's a pitch not a field LOL ;P This is top work mate. Been following it's development for some time in the forum and it was all worth it. The scuff marks on the ball really add to the realism of the piece.
