The nickname "Innovari" (meaning innovation or renewal in Latin) has been with me since I came across Syd Mead's prototype car design of the same name in his wonderful book "Sentinel." This work, with its air of "a new era of design"—along with the works of many SF and fantasy illustrators (such as Chris Foss, Peter Elson, Angus McKie, Chris Moore, Jim Burns, and Fred Gambino)—drove me over the years to do my own artwork.
"Fantastic fiction" always had a remarkable weight in my whole personal and professional life. I have been a professional SF author, I edited a fantasy and horror movie magazine, and for ten years have been chief modelmaker in my own special effects company.
In the last decade my creativity has leaned towards computer graphics and 3D illustrations in particular—with which I wanted to create professional artworks for books and magazines. I'm happy to say that in recent years this objective has been fulfilled, with many works sold worldwide to private and corporate clients.
Currently I'm building my worlds in Bologna, Italy, where I share a home with my wife Raffaella and our cats Leeloo and Merlin.

Nice Retro-Future image. Never had a chance to read any DD but I've seen enough samples toknow the basics. Ever read Warren Ellis' MINISTRY OF SPACE? You could consider that one "Alan Moore's Dan Dare".)

Jeez! But I feel old! I remember Dan Dare and the Mekon as well as Digby - Dan's trusty side-kick! I used to slavver over the Anastasia as the ship I really, really, really wanted to fly! They featued in the EAGLE boys comic which I remember getting after it combined with 'Boy's World'. I couldn't wait till it came through the letterbox with the newspaper. Strangely, I can't remember one story-line.......Great Pic!

Nice image, Frank Bellamy one of the later artists of the strip worked and lived in Kettering, his old house (he's dead now) is about a quarter of a mile from mine, I walk past it most days, also had the privilege of having the same art teacher as he, sadly I never met him..........keep up the good work

Anastasia was a beautiful design, as i remember it. i read somewhere that the artist wanted it to be a kind of DH Mosquito in space, which is why he gave it curved elegant lines rather than pointy ones.

I used to read the comic i the late 50's as a very small boy. The artwork was superb (colour when most British comics were mono) and the stories were very scary at times. Thanks for all of your work here, it is truly reminiscent of the era.

I used to get the Eagle comics sent from England by my grandmother. One of my favorites as well. There was a short lived CGI series done either 2000 or 2001. Still looking for series on DVD. Rendering was awesome.
