Description

This is Lilia in front of the San Jacinto Monument off I-10, East of Houston, Texas. The battle of San Jacinto was the last battle fought for the independence of Texas from Mexico. General Santa Ana was captured here and surrendered. This is the place where the world famous battlecry "Remember the Alamo" was heard. The battle of the Alamo delayed the Mexican army long enough for Texan forces to assemble and prepare for this battle. Remember the Alamo, not every defeat is a victory for the enemy.

I know this place! I lived in Texas for nearly 20 yrs. Most in El Paso but also Victoria and traveled the State extensively, also on a Harley. They don't call it "The Great State of Texas" for nothing. Keep em commin Man.
