Description
For years, this dragon tormented the sacred monkeys of Atlantis. The villagers found themselve helpless against this dragon and they sought for help amongst their gods. The gods did nothing to prevent this dragon from feasting on their sacred monkeys and the villagers wondered what they done to upset their gods. When they were ready to give up hope; a fairy warrior named Illumina came to help the Atlanteans rid this terrible dragon and save their sacred monkeys. As the dragon came to feast on the monkeys, Illumina was there, poised for battle. She took the dragon by surprise as she lept at it, thrusting her dagger across the chest of the dragon, but found it's armor impenetrable. They battled for hours. Illumina could not defeat this dragon, no matter what she did. Then with one swift of its tail, Illumina fell into the ocean. The monkeys cried insults at the dragon as it began its approach, they felt helpless and feared for their own lives. Illumina lept out of the ocean, crying "Enough!" She found a vulnerable spot on the dragon and stabbed the dragon repeatedly with her dagger. The dragon let out a loud piercing scream, Illumina continued thrusting her dagger into the weak spot of the dragon. Finally the dragon gave in as it flew away to lick it's wounds. Exhausted from her wounds, Illumina fell back into the ocean waters. The monkeys dove into the waters to rescue her from her fate. They brought her helpless body to the shore, where the villagers nursed her back to health. They were happy to be rid of that terrible dragon. Illumina was made a hero but she could not accept this. Their thanks was reward enough. She bid them farewell as she flew back to the heavens

Yay for the fairy saviour & warrior..boo the dragon. We used to get monkeys that looked a lot like that in our garden in South Africa when I was growing up. Wonderful story and Fantastic pic Frankie.
