Description

This marmot, or woodchuck, or rockchuck, really let me get this close, it's not a zoom. Taken near the Paradise Lodge on Mount Rainier, just over 3 weeks ago where there was still snow and jackets were still required. And I come home to 102 degree weather. ((sigh)) Thanks very kindly for your comments on my previous photographs. I really appreciate it. ...Maria

What a luxurious coat - he seems quite warm (and well fed) despite the lingering snow. I had to smile at your intro - recently Lori and I were unable to get to Lava Canyon near Mt. St. Helens due to the snow!!! Amazing this time of year. But you sure got a wonderful photo of this guy, posing so perfectly. You have to love it when those things happen. You sure had a wonderful trip - thanks for sharing it.

He sure does look like hes posing for his picture. I personally would be way to chicken to get that close. I had a goose chase me just the other day because I must have gotten too close with my camera.... I'm sure it was a scene straight from 'Funny Home Videos' and yes I can laugh about it... NOW.... Anyhow, great capture!!
