Description

AlooooooHa! Howsit everyone I hope your all enjoying your Sun. of rest. I decided to take a trip to Waimea on the Big Island about 1 1/2 hour drive from my house..left my house at 4am to catch the sunrise there. Waimea town sits very high in elevation so clouds and fog are an everyday occurrence here. There's a very scenic drive that runs along the mountain ridge that provides dramatic views of the Kona coast. On this morning the wind was whipping at around 40mph and a steady rain was not helping matters. I shot this rainbow at different locations on the upper road. I pretty much had to jump out and take a quick shot as it was quite nasty at times even though it looks like a sunny day. Behind me is just nasty black clouds and fog. Needless to say, I had a great time exploring Waimea and took some back roads that I had never been on before. If you ever come to the Big Island a trip to Waimea is a must. Thanks for your very appreciated comments on my previous images and your inciteful feedback. Please be careful out there, I had some close calls yesterday because of inattention...Till next post much Aloha to everyone!

Hello Dave, Weigh a pie! See how much darker the light is outside the bow? Its strange to see it against an almost clear sky, wonderful photograph.
