Description

This relic - from an era gone by (circa mid 1880's) - was found on the wall of an old sawmill that has been converted into a music hall in the tiny community of Damacus, Virginia. I believe this telephone was made by the American Telephone & Telegraph Company (AT&T), though I am not certain, as the information about the make and model of this telephone was located on the back of the unit, which was afixed to (and facing) the wall. Ohhhh Troy ! does this ever bring back memories...my KY grandparents had one just like this....my grandfather ended up selling it when they got one of them new-fangled telly-phones :oD ...but, I was aghast to say the least...I would've loved to have had it sigh....this was a very interesting photo and idea and so glad you posted it ! ....thanks for the comments too...looks like you've been as busy as I have... and hope your day is going well S XOXOX
