Description

Here's another image that I am thinking about printing. These prints are not for me. I plan on entering them in the fair. The goal is to sell them to some unsuspecting customer. I have lost interest contests and competitions. I figure that the best judge is the one that is willing to pay real money for a framed print. If I can do that, I win, and I did win last year with both prints that I submitted. It was fun. In this particular image I am going against the advice of an artist that I have a great amount of respect for. It's blue and blue isn't cool to hang on a wall. I can't help it. I love that color. I could almost hang a solid print of the color on my wall and be happy. On the other hand, if you don't think that this image stands a chance of being sold, I need to hear about it. I have already modified the Tide Pool image based on some feedback. At this point I have no ego. I would much rather be told now, before I spend money on printing, matting and framing. Thanks for your help Keith

Dear Keith, your work is a picture with joy and serenity. The color and the global design are rendering an atmospher of peace and revival. Your picture is excellent, and as write Lotta, "I would hang it on my wall". Perfect !!!

YOUR ART IS BEAUTIFUL AND I THINK IN THE RIGHT SETTING IT COULD SELL. I HAVE THOUGHT OF IT TOO. BUT THE RIGHT ART FAIR IS CRITICAL. I WANTED TO ASK YOU IF I COULD USE THIS IMAGE WITH ONE OF MY ANGELS. THEN I SAW YOUR IDEA OF SELLING IT. OH WELL. AT LEAST WE BOTH AGREE THAT IT IS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE!

I love this pattern and the colouring. It is hard to get people to buy art but I'm sure this would sell.

I find blue to be a very calming color and would have no problem with hanging this on my wall. This is an outstanding image and I hope it sells. Good luck.

I don't mind the blue :-) Blueish colours (along with the purple ones) are my favourite colours and I know I'm not the only one (my daugther has practically all her clothes in blue. lol). I think this is a beautiful image. I especially love the ligther part in the upper half; it has different colours and radiates light. I have a bit more problems with the dark green part in the bottom right. That's a very dark corner there. But I'm not sure if a ligther corner would improve it. Probably not. Maybe it's the green (green is not my favorite colour). The blue lightstreak in the bottom left is a lovely touch: again radiating light. I like the cloudlike shapes in the background and foreground. Would I like something like this on my wall? Most definitely! Sorry for the long comment, but you did ask ^_^

WOW, ABSOLUTE GORGEOUS! Your friend is right, Blue doss'nt sell in art, but they say this also about realistic paintings. Dont listen to this kind of advise, follow your own idea! I think you're right to take the risk. Again, its a stunning piece of fractal art! RS

We have a huge blue image with some yellow lemons hanging on the wall :-) And your blue fractal should find some buyers too.

Blue is an earth color, so it should go with just about any other color you can think of. Note that when you wear jeans, you can wear any color sport shirt, tee shirt, and you can even dress up with jeans and something more conservative. Your use of light 'n' dark colors plus the lighting gives it a chance to also fit in with a room with light or dark colored furniture. Awesome lighting which gives it a cheerful, happy look. I say you'll sell it within 30 minutes. Excellent work! (:

I have a blue picture hung in my house. I wouldn't worry about blue. I think how it's framed might make a difference. Since you asked for critical comments I will say that perhaps it could be cropped slightly, top and left. That would accent the lower right portion, which to me is the most beautiful part. But that's a judgement call, and who am I to say; nothing in my exhibit sold! It's a beautiful piece. Good luck with it.

I think this is beautiful - lots to look at in my favourite colours, well balanced both within the 'frame' and with light and shade. Having said that though, for every one of us that likes it, there will be someone who doesn't, for a variety of reasons - art is such a personal thing. However, even if someone doesn't particularly like it, they couldn't deny that it's a quality image and well worthy of entry into the fair. Go for it - and good luck.

You have to be very careful about the framing with this piece. Don't forget,it's the half of the thing. And about would it sell - this NOBODY knows, though there is the thing about the right customer in the right place and right time. Good luck.

To many housewives, color coordination is important. If the room is all in earth tones, maybe not, but if the carpet is blue or the couch, then it would be much more likely. An office generally has much more generic colors where any color of print would look good. So it's a matter of just how many people see this print and who wants their home color design to stay on a theme, and who doesn't care about that and will buy on impulse. I love blue, and I would try to find a place for this one! :)

Blue is my favorite color, so perhaps I'm not objective there. But since I don't know how to do fractals, I can look at this as a an "unsuspecting" attendee at the fair would. Yes, it's eye-catching, beautiful, and I believe you can easily sell it framed. In fact, if it were mine, I'd take along several dozen copies (per day) - it's that good. Keep us posted!

Oh my just breath in the freshness and coolness of this beautiful image! I have a green living room and I would hang it up in there. I saw this at 2 am this morning and did not have time to comment, but all I can say is it is just glorious looking! It has such wonderful depth and feel to it. Now as for the fair, I do not know how they work, but I agree with Mags61. Good luck!

So soft. I like the delicate detail, subtle texture, points of light and shading..and the incomparable Deagol coloring. Masterful and beautiful work. (ps..print it real big and hang it..and good luck at the fair; blue is a heavenly color..especially the way you use it).

I think this would be a great print, but bearin mind (as I am sure you know) "you can't please all of the people all of the time" I agree with som eof the other comments i.e. you need a classy mount and the right frame - but I am sure you know that anyway. Good luck Keith, we would love to know how you get along. :O)

This is beautiful. I would buy such a print, but it would not be in my living room due to the colors. (But I love the blue/green). I would hang it in my bedroom. Good luck with selling your prints.

Well "I" like the colors, for what it's worth. Hanging over my sofa in the family room is a triptych painting with LOTS of blue....and some swans. Good luck Unca B - knock 'em dead!
