Try to render your image with a higher size(1280x960Pixel or higher if you can) and than make them smaller with a painting-programm. On this way you never got these steps at your mountains. For naturely mountains use the generate terrain funktion.

for a fantasie world is it o.k., but for a realistic image its bullsh.... Ithink, its a fantasie landscape. but make, what topsi say.

I think you people treat me too kindly. Unfortunately, my computer is old and dying, I cannot make the renders higher than 640x480 without causing a crash. I am lucky that ZBrush and Terragen works at all. The other problem with this pic is jpeg distortion.
