Description

Nikon 7900 image. Here is a small green Preying Mantis who decided to perch on the end of my finger. I have had a very difficult time getting crisply focused shots of this species. Firstly, I think that is because they are so narrow that the camera has trouble finding out where to focus and secondly, these little guys don't run away from the camera but tend to jump on it instead when I get within working range, lol. The first few times this happened was a little startling but I soon got used to it as you can see from this shot. It is another in my series of flash shots at dusk. and I hope the pic was worth the click. Lee.

Now this is a briliant capture! I had no idea these guys were this small. You've got an amazing eye for that other universe around us, the one we are mostly oblivious to, all the little critters and plant life and other goodies that most of us so blindly move past every day. :)
