Description
Finger is better now. Remember, when taking pictures without a tripod, always watch where your fingers are when you hold the camera, shortly after taking this picture, I scalded myself. The previous image in the series resulted from my hand covering half the flash and resulted in some wierd colors. When I moved my hand to the bottom of the camera, the boiling water became crystal clear from the flash and all these beautiful caustic reflections emerged, but I also liked the colors I was getting before. When I was doing postwork on this image I split the image up into it's component channels (CMYK) and then started "subtracting" portions of the color. Then, I took the original image, desaturated it, and recolorized with the "subtracted" color layers. Then, I added in some glare by blurring a copy of the desaturated original and color dodging the colorized version. I wound up with this "electric boogaloo" version.

A truly beautiful image, really shows that you can find beauty anywhere if you look hard enough, I hope the scald isn't too bad!

I like both the abstract macro effect and the coloration is great; like a tightly packed bouque(sp?) of flowers
