Description

By searching for "SU carburetor" I found links to "Tilly" Shilling and on her Norton Manx and another seach for "Stag Lane" where Amy Johnson learned to fly led to the Martin-Baker site where it tells of Sir James Martin the founder as a nuggedy Ulsterman. So no Harry Hawker on a Rudge Ulster but a motorcycle and Ulster all the same. Poser, as I use the textures I have made, gives a different kind of "marker" render on reflective surfaces. The starkness of the off axis blotches is the harsh outdoor sun that bleaches paint white and causes canopies to craze and yellow. I do have the sense of over 300mph here. Trains are left behind. I learned to walk on my hands to begin "inverted flight". Sustained all the way across the Diag at U of M with a lady walking beside me as we talked. Palm print after palm print on the warm concrete. Later in the 9 story tower of Douglas Aircraft, the polished linoleum tile felt cool walking down the rows of offices palm print after palm print. Taking the secretaries to Rochelle's restaurant, run by a former circus clown was a treat on Secretaries Day. I never ever met a lady pilot. Someone from the CIA had to remind me of when Secretary's Day was. The Golden Age still shines. (Tilly had invented the orifice diaphram used in Merlin carburetors to allow negative g's pushed over before "red out". she rode her motorcyle from her job at RAE as a physicist to all the Spit bases to be sure it was installed correctly in every plane. Couldn't find an exact refernce to the Hurricane, too. Negative g's is another fuel feed problem from inverted flight which required a special fuel tank.)
