Description

Taken at Gateway in Umhlanga Rocks, South Africa. They have this really cool wave-maker thingiemabob that... wait for it... makes waves! These guys were having a ball. OMG!!!!!! What a shot here my friend!!! I really do love this action captured shot with that super timing and POV!!!!! I went through your gallery and i liked it a lot.. Having taken a some surfshots myself the thumb grabbed me here. I've never seen one of these in person, but have seen them on the TV, a great alternative to the real thing...and no sharks. Very nice shot here, really shows movement and the excitement of the moment. Well done! Aloha!

Absolutely fantastic shot! I like the way the guy is really sharp in contrast to the motion blur of the wave, and the contrast of colors between his red shirt and the blue of the water.

Agree with all the foregoing comments, but it's the overall shape that pulls the eye so powerfully. The backwards stance is a nice hook, too.
