Much as my life tries to distract me from it, I keep coming back to art. It's a fundamental part of my OS. Imaginative art has been a passion from my wee years (4 or 5). Growing up during the Space Race, my creative juices usually yearned skyward. I loved creating sci-fi images that had their roots in factual science. Or just cute ladies. Or lunar exploring penguins. Or a twisted mix of all three.
Okay, I haven't actually tried that... yet... It was drilled into my head, very early, that art was not a viable career. It was 20 years before I realized how much hooey that was. With a college degree in the sciences I made a course correction and eeked out something almost representing "a living" as a professional SF illustrator in the late 80's. My work was mostly done for paper and pen RPG companies - all the big players at the time.
In the 90's I turned to computer games, but I foolishly drifted into the administrative side. Once I left that field, I began the task of backtracking to rekindle my illustrative/design/graphics roots.
In Jan. of 2006, my pal Tom (TomPeters) introduced me to DAZ Studio. I became immediately addicted - and I don't use that term lightly! Much money spent and little sleep has been had since. 3D figure modeling has sunk its hooks deep into my brain. Ouch!

The pic looks great, I think there is something about the hair. I think the face is perfect!

I`ve got this hair on my wishlist over at Daz. Love this image. Great work.

Maybe it's the glare on her right arm and legs? Don't use D|S, so couldn't suggest a better light setting. Heck, I couldn't even suggest it in Poser. lol. But that's my take on what looks slightly off here. I think the image overall is fantastic though. Very friendly face and I love the addition of the glasses. 5+++

Quite keen!

The poses are excellent (I'm not absolutely sure about her feet, as she ought to be tripping herself up any time now, but the cat seems to have cottoned on to that, too :) ). The lighting is quite strong, but the shadows are a bit faint. Perhaps you could try making the shadows a bit stronger, while making the lighting a bit softer. It's a while since I played with D/S, so I can't suggest specific settings. There's a line across the girl's hair that comes, I suppose, from the wall behind, but it seems bolder than it ought to be. Last thing: I don't think that the girl's boots are quite touching the ground. These are basically minor criticisms, though. This is a very appealing picture as it is.

I have to say, a great looking image too! I agree that the shadows should be stronger though, considering how bright the light seems. The first thing I thought when I saw it, was "Harry Potter". She reminds me of a female version of him I think lol, must be the round glasses :)

Yeah, I think you guys are right with the shadows. I probably blew them away with my backlighting.

I think it's awesome. Nice work!

Great job as usual. The whole image has a fun feel with great personality. The character is definitly NOT a cookie-cutter Aiko figure. Love the Bomb-Pop! Can't quite tell if the cat is looking at the popcicle or the person-maybe both, trying to size up its chances of making off with the goodie. Just adds to the playful mood of the whole piece. The shadows might be subtlely too light- I wouldn,t go overboard with them, though-I've seen bright diffuse lighting conditions in which the shadows are only visible where they interact, which is seems to be what is happening here.

Well, they've got the critique handled above, so I'll just say: she is damn cute! really sweet looking, and I'm a huge fan of those teeny tiny skirts. Very yummy stuff.

Shadows? Yeah, sorry... I was preoccupied looking at something else. :) You do nice work.

Outstanding picture - I have been toying with daz for a bit now - althrough only recently have come up with anything I would actualy show another living person (outside my cat). Lighting in daz can be... a pain, I think you did quiet well.
