Description
The picture I posted yesterday was colorful but not as razor sharp as it should be. But this one makes me proud of my camera.. the details are amazing...well.. I think anyway.
The striped shield bug, scientific name Graphosoma lineatum, is only present when the temperatures rise high, like they do now. It is about two centimeters long (about one inch)
BTW: Twopynts is the first one to comment on the second version of this picture I posted today.
In other words..I cropped the original picture (thanks to Aangus)to the utmost and what you see now is the result of that.

The details are indeed amazing. Beautiful little bug-ger. Excellent DOF as well. I hate to correct you though...an inch is 2.54cm so half an inch would have been 1.27 cm. #:oP Have a great evening. #:O)
