Description

At least I think it's a Blue Grouse, either a hen or a juvenile. Captured along the Pacific Crest Trail, at over 2500 meters altitude. It's about the size of a chicken, so it had no desire nor inclination to try to take flight in the thin air, preferring instead to stroll away from me as I huffed and puffed my way upslope.
