Description

You all wonder what man will sell in the name of science. I went to this art and craft show and walked in with my camera takeing photos and I noted a lot of people was nervous. Next thing I know this lady was demaning me what I was going to use the photos for. I told her I going to put it on the net at this site. WOOOO She went into a fix of some type. and say people do not want they work on the net for they work will be rob. Only the ones that give me permission I can post. Plus no camera was allow. I saw no signs and I was not hideing the camera. Plus what I saw most of it was not worth putting up anyway. I did buy some stuff before the woman came haveing a fix. I did not buy nothing else after. But I did walk over and ask this man if I can put his stuff on the net and he say yes. So here it is. "Right" you say " what is it?" It for relief from Astha and Allery. It is rock salt from the Himalays Mountians. That why the color is what it is. Rock salk from Louisiana is white. They cut out a place and put a light bulb in it and it put out neg. ions and give relief. Guess they did not wish this stuff to get to the medical field. have a good day and thanks for the comments

As for the lady freaking out on you, it's a shame, but photographers go through that all the time! I have been reading stories like this for a while, and some are worst (police questioning a photographer). Here's one story where the photographer was thought to be a spy! lol (The link will open in a new window). AnyHOO, I'm glad the fellow at the craft show let you take this picture. I find it quite beautiful, the color and lighting. I like the composition of this shot and your point of view. :) Btw, I always enjoy the little stories you attach to your photos! :D

Very interesting. A bit of a hoax in some ways, but the negative ions do help allergy and asthma sufferers by attaching the ions to pollens, dust and other particles in the air and pulling them into those orange things. So it is not totally a hoax altho clearly they were trying to say the Rock Salt from the Himalayias has some sort of curative powers. Possible but dubious since they went ahead and installed Negative Ion Generators in them. Very interesting.

I got the same response from a small car museum. I guess they thought I was going to steal the car's spirits. excellent capture of an idea I will leave alone

I thought they were supposed to be giant pieces of pollen! Fascinating concept, that negative ion thing. It's funny what a few extra electrons flying around will do. Terrific looking and mysterious shot!

Ive had people freak out when I am shooting something in a totally different direction than them. I had a mom thinking I was stalking her child when I was taking pictures of bugs at a state park. sigh great shot though. The lighting is interesting and the notes you made were even more so.

we in Russia have a similar kind of stuff advertised as asthma& allergy relief from salt mines. a lightbulb is also inserted. it's not a complete hoax as long as you can use it as a bedside light to save you from stepping into the hole on the floor. a very nice shot indeed.

What ever happened to good ol' snake oil? That stuff works wonders for every ailment! I can see why she didn't want anyone taking pictures, probably didn't want the authorities to find out! Interesting photo and great anecdote (as always)! FIVE STARS

Cool picture with excellent color and camera angle that draws the viewer into the scene and make us want to know what is going on - shows the power of god art! Also glad I read your write=up, as did not know rock salt got that large nor that it could be carved.
