I was looking for a new way to photoraph the rings. Do you think it worked?

I am missing a bit the details, and the flash is definitely to direct and bright ... the cake (if that is what I think it is) has too much priority, it seems you are more interested in the shells than in the rings ... I would go much closer and just have a part of the cake/shells showing and put the rings much bigger and dominant in the picture ... but what do I know, makros are not my strenghts, and I never did a wedding ... so, you are definitely ahead of me there ;)

They might be better on a darker surface. Unique idea, though.

If 'TheSecond' didn't even know if it was a cake or not, then how could you be giving it too much priority?? DUH! I do cakes, and I know that there aren't very many pictures taken of them. This is a great way to incorporate two IMPORTANT parts of the whole event! Lovely cake, and lovely shot of the rings. The flash highlights the metal in the rings beautifully.
