Texas railroads is a story in itself. The Texas Railroad Commision once set crude oil prices and supply. Engineers from Missouri spoke of "the Katy" in awe.

A graveyard of old rail-beasties! And a real "Doozy". Very cool Richard!!! I really love the flat-car, how the vegetation is growning out of it! Like a giant flower box!!!

Great images of a once vital part of the American scene. Now, as with many things, it has slipped silently into the world of nostalgia. There is a sense of sadness in these images. Very poignant, and well done.

What a shame that no one has thought to restore one. I remember these, from when I used to have a model railway, as a child Richard. Great captures. Really interesting. Steve :o)

My son just LOVED trains growing up. I bet he had 10 different train sets. It all started though w/his fear of trains. We lived next to a track and everytime they went by they were so loud it scared him. So, when I heard them coming I would take him outside and we'd watch the train come and go and the Engineer would blow his horn at him and of course he thought that was kewl. Back then they had cabooses and if there was a man on it he'd wave, too. He got over his fear and then instead of getting scared he'd jump up on his bed to look out and watch them come down the tracks. So as you can see...this brings back memories. AWESOME!! *****

These are great shots and great places for little wildlife to use as a home seems humans no longer want them. I like the ones nearly covered with plants.

Oh my husband would just love this photo. He is a total train addict. lol. These are great old parts of the train. I myself love the old ones. I gave my husband a engineers log for a train that ran in the mideast from the early 40's. Even enjoyed looking at it myself. This is great. Paul will love it !!!
