Description
... a small, beautiful, fragile, delicate little blossom that grows in sub-alpine regions. This was past Paradise on Mount Rainier blooming profusely along the roadsides with banks of snow only a few feet away. Thanks very kindly for having a look... Maria

I highly recommend the full view on this one, Maria:) The shape of the petals on these lilies is awesome! At first glance I was going to say that these remind me very much of the wild daylilies that grow along our roadsides here in the Southern US, but the full view certainly put me straight! It's like our daylilies, with "turbulence" LOL:) Thanks for posting! I am certainly enjoying your vacation!

Wonderful capture, Maria. We also saw tons of these, but I don't think I got a picture of one that's as good as this.

They are gorgeous! Lori and I have quite a lot of flowerbed area in our yard, but we love getting out and seeing the wildflowers - they're so beautiful in spring. Gee, we just HAVE to get up to Rainier soon. Another awesome presentation, Maria. Thank you!!!

Beautiful flower! I like the way you contrasted its fragile form and colors with the sorta desolate surroundings in the close-up. Joie has been a real shutter-bug since I bought her a camera last CHRISTmas but there aren't a lot of flowers around here so she takes a lot of macro pix of lizards, bugs, spiders and frogs - something we DO have in abundance in Fla. I tried to get her to go to the garden section at Home Depot to take flower pix but she thought that would be sorta weird to do. Then again, maybe she suspected it was just a ploy to get us to go to "man heaven".....ahh, the aroma of fresh plywood and still-wet pressure treated two by fours......heaven, indeed! lol

Charming. I love the contrast between close-up and perspective shot. My only complaint is the heavy grey border.
