Description
Not alot of postwork on this which is very unusual for me.
Chapel wall, windows and bench modeled by me. The windows actually have an image texture to fit onto the glass object but I forgot to save the settings once I had correctly sized it. Consequently after rebuilding the scene, I just went with a more generic colored glass.
Hi Aliensprog, thanks for the nice comment. Here's the basic stuff I did for this scene.
Started with black sky at night setting. Got two spotlights to light up the transparent windows.
On the right hand window there is a cone spotlight sunk into the ground with the gel overlay of the stained glass material. Nested into it is a cone object with material set to a cloud, I think it's Jetstream or Mid Summer clouds, something thin and high altitude anyway.
There are two lights on the girl's face, one is a round light with the stained glass gel to cast colored reflections, the other is just to make sure her features can be seen.
The Bryce render looked good from there and gave quite a good streaming light effect but I had to do postwork in Photoshop to paint in her hair and do some foliage corrections as well as add the grass etc. The final effect of the shadows was done by doing a new layer in black, about 45% opacity, then taking the eraser to reveal the main objects. The streaming light in the left window is just eraser work at a low eraser opacity.
Thanks again!
Pretty happy with the lighting here and the effect of light through the windows.
On a critical note I should have worked on the wall texture a bit more, didn't quite get the old mossy stone texture I was wanting so settled for second best. Might have added a few more environmental details like some fireflies or something.

I like the streaming light and the composition. Did you run a filter through this? i have never seen Bryce render like this. If no filter, could you tell me what settings you rendered with. Very interesting.
