These are excellent, worthy of a book on WWII aircraft. I wasn't aware that the Aleutians Rufes had pink paint jobs. I wonder its the same reason that desert B-24s were pink?

Fighter has to be a courtesy title for these creatures. Those huge floats must have made them pretty unwieldy. Wasn't the Kyofu converted to a traditional fighter (George is a code name that come to mind). If so, it became a pretty venomous weapon. One Japanese pilot took on 12 Hellcats, destroyed four, and had the others on the run. Nice work, as always.
