Description
This building sits on the site of Station 'A', the first hydro-electric generator on the west coast. The first long-distance transmission of electricity was made from this site on June 3, 1889.

An interesting bit of history, and I find the old construction interesting too - purely functional with not a dime spent on asthetics. I contrast that with many of the photos of old architecture in Europe, and have to shake my head. Buildings like this in the middle of the astounding natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. What a shame. Nice photo, tho, you captured it perfectly.
