Description

In the middle of a forgotten field, surrounded by a rusted fence a gray barn stands alone, Gone are the sounds that rang from earthen floor to empty loft~ The rotten leather horse collar has long since fallen from the wall and lies dust covered with other remnants of time~ Sunlight filters through the cracks and splits in bare walls that still hold the whispered secrets of first loves and solemn promises~ And as darkness settles in, wilderness... in her own style, reclaims what no one else wants any longer~ Been awhile since I wrote anything this won a contest:)and many thanks for all your continued prayers and dedications to me...they did get all the cancer and I have yet to see the chemo Drs I have gained weight I did weigh 103 and now I weigh a 113 just hate to take the chemo and get sick all over again...thanks for the letters, get well cards, phone calls and many other acts of kindness you have shown me here on Renderosity...I love all you all...Your the best Love you all Susan~

That is a very beautiful poem. I am so glad they got all of the cancer out for you. If you do have to have the chemo, know that our prayers are still for your full recovery. I'm feeling better each day. The medicine the doctor has me on is very strong, and makes me very sleepy all of the time. That's why I haven't posted much.

This is excelllent !!! It is a perfect description of a barn that was my grandparents in NH and then went to my mother and now to my siblings. It is very old and one sibling does not want to pay for foundation and siding repairs to it is going back to nature. You poem has brought up a wistful sadness thinking of that old barn that used to be the hub of so much goings on....animals, and children playing...and my childhood. I loved that barn and still do but when I go in it, this poem is how I feel and I leave feeling sad that what was, is no more. Thank you for sharing this. It has touched a very deep place in me.

My dear Susan, First of all I want to congratulate you on a perfect writing. I'm glad they got all the cancer out. Now now luv, I know how bad the chemo is. Mom's in the middle of her 7th one. Yeah... 7th :( But I agree with Sekadhar. When the Drs still have hope, you should have hope too! If your CA count was low enough for them to operate, you're almost there already don't you think? You are still in my prayers dear Susan. Keep us posted on the developments mmm?

Hey, Susan! I thought I had commented on this one. I love it, anyway. Jocko has a picture that would go perfect with this one. You should ask him if you can use his thumb. I love this. You are so eloquent. Hugz...still praying for you. God works miracles! Ask Dusty!
