Very impressive! The details looks great, and from what I know about Napoleon you've captured his ugly mug especially well. :) I hope you will texture this, and show us the final version!

He only needs three hours of sleep a night to give out his medals for service. If the other man has a faster horse he needs no lance to pursue him. I imagine that Villaroche saw his true value when he took his own life.

This is a more than good start, and I can not wait to see a finished image you defiantly have talent to be sure. Here are a few things to consider the back of the Emperor's hat should be slightly higher than the front, the cockade (I think I spelled this wrong) thats the ribbon that should be on his left side the side facing us in the image. The Emperor's face however does not look much like him his face should be fuller his nose straight but not hooked underneath as you have it and is jaw line needs to softer and rounder. Here are a few links to a few images to help you out to see what I'm speaking about http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/a/ae/Napoleon_1796.jpg/180px-Napoleon_1796.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e1/Napoleon1.jpg And this site is full of over a 100 pictures of Le Emperor http://www.napoleon.org/en/home.asp
