Description
Some nasty things happened in the Atlantic during WW2. This is one of them.
U Boats didn't always waste expensive torpedoes on small ships, they were expert at gunnery too.

CS2 for post.
(You'll normally find me in the aviation gallery, but there is so much water in my pic I decided to come downstairs, so to speak).
Hope the air/sea mix hasn't offended the purists amongst you.
Thanks for looking.

I think the air/sea mix works, the picture has that stylised look of a picture a former pilot might have on their mantle piece. Looking through your gallery, you have a real eye for these aeroplane pictures. Very impressive sea.

Those first few years were dark days indeed. I'm sure seeing a PBY comming in was always a welcome site to our ships. Great capture on the Cat.

Only 1 thing I see stands out: the scale of the ship and the man overboard to the sub. Unless the ship is actually a small coastal patrol boat, it would appear to be a destroyer or frigate-sized vessel. Which means that it would be twice as long as the sub. Now, if the sub were actually closer to the viewer, than I think the DOF needs to be worked on...oh, sorry one more observation: unless the sub were caught on the surface by BOTH the destroyer AND the Catalina, the sub would not be fighting back, she would have dived as quickly as possible to avoid a fight......still, a dramatic scenario nonetheless.
