Description
I found this snapping turle in my driveway the last Fri. of July. I don't know what it was doing there, but I know it was hurt (if you look closely at the pic. you can see that its shell is cracked, the turtle was also bleeding from its chin). My family and I managed to get the turtle in an 18 gal. buckett, which was the biggest thing we had to put it in, unfortunatly it was still almost too small for it. The next day my dad and I took the turtle to the vet. The vet said that the turtle had a fighting chance at surviving, he also said it was around 40-50 yrs in age; however, I dont' know about caring for turtles, especailly snapping turtles, so my dad and I took the turtle to a local wildlife center that will take care of the turtle till it can be re-released into the wild and if it can't be re-released then they will take care of it for the remainder of its days.

hahaha..... even the name snapping turtles makes me want to stay away. Great job on the rescue, and pointing him in the right direction. Well done!
