midway through shooting "Gert" (star of yesterday's "She's Baa-aack!") yesterday, i heard a rustling of leaves behind me and i saw...this. I moved to get a shot but he turned quickly and slithered under the downed tree that is their home (this is the second time they've been there so i know). you can tell it's a male because he's slimmer and yellowish. it was a few hours later that i got this shot, but "Garth" (garter-garth?) was still very skittish. he was actually trying to scare me away by doing a little adder-weave with his head, but it didn't work, so after three shots he took off. comments welcome!
