I have no idea how a zero-G kitchen would work, but it seems like countertops wouldn't be all that useful since nothing would keep things in place on them. What is the "D"-shaped area about?
Pagrin
Youre right the bench top surfaces wouldn't be useful to leave things really. but you still need a place to work against. That is a surface to use to chop food etc, and as there is a lot of cupboards for storage, it made sence that the bench is still flat on top of them. Although the image doesn't really show it very well the "D" area is if fact a hole in the floor to the Lounge area below. The concept of the station is that it once had gravity, but hasn't had it for 36 years. Hence some element in the design were made with gravity in mide and then altered when the gravity was removed. What you're looking at is the hole left by a spiral staircase. Thanks for asking, and again all comments are welcome. Pagrin :-)

Nice work so far Pagrin. As a helpful Tip, Don't be afraid to use the "Rounder" tool on the edges of cupboards, what this will do is allow light to reflect off the Edges/Corners of cupboards, doors, etc, etc and help realism a bit more, then you just need to worry about textures and specularity and bobs your uncle. Keep up the good work.
