Of all the places in California, this is the second most important to me. The first is the seqoia national forest, but that was too far from where we were staying for me to see. So, midway through my week out there, we went to Monterey. I wanted to see the kelp forest so badly- I am facinated by it. Unfortunately, the aquarium closed at 6pm. We arrived there at 5:45. But I did get to see the kelp forest from above- the bumps you see in the water are the tops of the kelp plants. Also take note of what Californian's call "clog". I am so amused by this weather phenomenon. Its not low enough to be considered true fog, but not high enough to be a cloud, either. So it is therefore...clog. My husband made up a song for it, to the tune of Ren & Stimpy's Log song. Everytime he sang it, I laughed so hard I nearly peed myself. lol.
