Description

Long time no post (motherboard died in render machine--replacement is in and I hope to have the box rebuilt by end of week). Bought an older house (this one was built in 1976), been fixing the house (replaced the power panel which blew on us, tore down the deck full of ants, rebuilt the SE corner of the house which had to go down to the stud lumber due to water damage, house should be repainted by end of week as well). Plus working two contracts at the same time. Wanted to share a couple of two new family members and update the Jeep "Pitch Black" project. Sally is a 1948 Chevy pickup I found down in Southern Oregon. Paula (the girlfriend) had a 1949 that was stolen and never recovered years ago, so I've been out the lookout for a replacement--without having to travel to Northern Texas to find one (GRIN). Arney is a 2005 Dodge 2500 (3/4 ton) Quad cab powered with a Cummins Turbo Diesel (yep, we're already on the lookout for local biodiesel stations). He joined the family after Paula fell in love with the diesel pickup we rented to trailer Sally back to Seattle. The same week Sally came home, I had the Jeep in for maintenance and there sat Arney on the used lot of the dealership. Paula has never been the "soccer mom" type--she is and always will be a "truck chick". She had a van to haul kids and stuff. Kids have started moving out (Hooray!), so it was time to get rid of the van. So now I have step rails, fender flares, and mudflaps to install. She got the tonneau installed the other day so she make get to them before I do (GRIN). The Jeep has been gathering parts, waiting for me to install them "in my spare time". I have the safari doors on now (PICS) and the (hopefully) correct fender flares are in and I hope to have them on by end of month. This next weekend, I've been informed I am laying wood flooring in the dining room (GRIN). Hope to be back to posting REAL SOON. T4V&C
