Description

"Ehukai" is the hawaiian word for "sea foam". This is a clear example of being in the right place at the right time - timing is everything with the click of the shutter. If you look closely you will see that this is the foamy part of the wave, just as it is hitting the seashore/reef. This photo was taken at Mokule`ia on the North Shore of O`ahu.

This is an incredible shot. Among the best I've seen. The clarity of focus and fluid action are surreal. Can you do it again...? :-)

Mahalo (thank you) for the feedback...and uh, I would hope that I could do it again! I love to get up close and personal with my subjects, and so I don't use any sort of attached lenses - there have been a few "close calls", especially when dealing with the ocean waves and tides!

Not only do I know what Ehukai means, but I have a brother named Ehukai. Aloha Sista, so glad you found this site. There are a few Hawaiians in the house here. I'm from the Big Island, a Oahu transplant since 1980. Hope you enjoy posting here, it's a kewl place to share aloha. Very nice shot btw, I'm so into the ocean as I see you are in your images...Once again welcome! Aloha~

At first I thought the thumbnail was clouds over mountains, the same view when I'm up on Mauna Kea. And now I see its a blanket of sea foam that embraces the sand. Excellent shot. Aloha

I've always loved this piece . . . and as you can plainly see, I knew it would blow others away as well!
