Description

Good Morning All, In an attempt to cheer myself up last night i went off on my bike to Avebury, the largest man made monument in Europe. Basically it is a large stone circle in Wiltshire (not as famous as stonehenge but much bigger and you can actually touch the stones) for the evening. I took some great shots..here is one. I have put a couple of others on my main gallery on my own site. Hope you like em guys and guyettes! Have a good one. www.flyinghedgehog.co.uk

Guyettes? lol What, why cant you touch Stonehenge? lol probably some religious reason, eh? Well I like the way you caught the sun behind this one, and the outstretched shadow. Very beautiful, great shot :-)

LOL! Guyettes? HAHAHA!!!! I would think you cant touch Stonehenge because its secured or something....right? Beautiful capture against the light like that. Still managed to remain some details in the stone and shaded grass. Well done indeed. Have a great day. #:O)

Nope, can't get near Stonehenge. There is a barrier. Apparently generations of idiots have been chipping bits off and graffitting them so the authorities closed them. I think there are one or two days a year when you can get close but the rest of the year a barriers keeps you about 50 meters from them. It is much smaller than most imagine too :) Have good one guy and guyettes ;)

The thumb really caught my eye.I like the lighting in this very much.Very nice compo as well.I'm envious that you can just hop on a bike and see a place like this.Lucky you...I didn't know you can't actually 'touch' Stonehenge...what a shame... :(

Yeah only a few miles from my home now in Wiltshire.. Magical light and perhaps why they built this awesome place..

I never knew there were circles bigger than Stone Henge. You're right I've never heard of this one. Will have to keep it in mind when I eventually make it out to see Stone Henge. Tank you for sharing!

The POV is terrific - the shadow really brings out the scale of the monument. Awesome work!

Well seen. I love the halo around the stone. Really adds drama.

I like how you can see texture in the rock even with this sillhouette lighting situation. Awesome photo!
