Description

It was a very hot day, 100 in the shade. I came in the yard and noticed a bird on the lawn, not unusual. Then I approached it expecting it to fly away, sadly it did not. I picked up the bird with not a peep from the bird. He did not look injured and I had no idea if birds could suffer from overheating. So I did all I could, I put him in a shallow bowl of cool water and hoped for the best. It was not my yard so I have no idea if the bird survived.
