Description

I did this image using some photos from the rooms of Castle Neuschwanstein (Bavaria, Germany) as reference. Rendered with 3 Arealights, no Radiosity. Rendertime was about 20minutes. Hope you like it, thanks for viewing.

thanks for all the comments. For the woodtextures Im using several slightly changed wood images, diffuse on 75, specular 70, glossiness 45, a gradient (incidence angle, 0-20%) on the reflection channel and some bumpmapping do make the reflections softer. There is a very useful tutorial at http://www.the-worms-of-art.com/Tutorials/ (choose: Mr Fresnel - All You Need to Know!) for working with reflections and creating a fresnel-effect.

Excellent wood of the chairs!! Like sparrownightmare, Im amazed with that. I always have problems with realistic wood [in Blender and C4D]. Also the light is great as for 3 Radiosity-free areas. But the darker wall and ceiling woods seem to be a bit too specular as for me. The chair wood looks simply perfect... And it sets extremely high requirements for everything else:) No, no, no, I just cant believe in these chairs:<

Well you did a phenominal job!! The table and chairs and the candelabra look authentic. This is reminicent of some of the rooms I saw at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The wood panels are from floor to ceiling, and the ceiling is of wood panels. They have mural of inlaid wood throughout. Each panel a hidden one for a bookcase, closet, etc. The craftsmanship is outstanding. I do enjoy the way you pay attention to detail. The bookcase in the back with the knick knacks on the shelves. A true viewing pleasure! :) Michelle
