This is indeed surrealistic, jocko. What's more, it makes me think: What is really important in life? What should I learn to appreciate more? The meeting between life and death here is very appropriately framed by the dead grass. I like that, not only visually, but symbolically. That which was once living... "Let the preacher say the rest." AMEN.

This looks a lot like you computer work. An interesting theme that has a lot of time for exploration, at least we hope. I thought the grass was a frame before I read your comments, great idea!

Wow...Great painting. I was actually told by one of my Art teachers that I didn't know how to control my paint!!! Maybe she was refering to that fact that there was more paint on me then on the canvas! All in all this is really amazing!! Excellent Job +++ I am always impressed by artist who can paint, especially this well.

Terrific Jock. I keep feeling more and more unworthy of art thing. Look at you. So full of multi-talentts. I don't covet the talent. That was God's to give out. You use them to love your neighbor. I'm living in good times and have food in my belly so I won't complain, much.

Cool painting.....excellent done!!!

Nice colors in this abstract concept. I wish I could appreciate this method of painting, but as a fine detail technical illustrator kind of a guy, I would never tackle this genre of art. I like acrylics and oil paintings but they are beyond my control and dexterity. Thank heaven I have computer programs like Photoshop, Bryce and Poser to bail me out. Although somewhat difficult to learn at first, they are much easier to work with than acrylics.

Wonderful work !

I personally like this pose and the dead vs alive factor. The pose is very captivating, and I have like 8 birds, I know the problem with them eating things lol :-)

I like the symbolic system of this table. The unknown is between the life and death. The unknown is a pit, because it is impossible for us to define his border. A thing is sure, a painted table has much more life, than an automated work, if beautiful is it. Art is the Life. Painting with the brush too. Daring!

One can tell the woman is yearning for something, yet the bone person seems to be mocking her. I suppose he is off to dance a dead rose dance with his true love? Great imagery!
idiot_sphinx
Wonderful painting !! I like the way you captured the painting :) The grass adds a wonderful frame ! In your painting though, I like the way you express how close the woman is to death. I think as we get older , we see it quite frequently. Expressive and well done :D !!~BRAVO~!!

Excellent! Wonderful color contrasts. Those columns really make the image come to life. The frame is cool too! Great job, Jock! I want to see what you do with oils.
